Frequently Asked Questions

 

  • How many people can The Stables at Sturgeon Creek accommodate?

    • Our venue can accommodate as many as 200 of your closest friends and family.

 

  • How many events might be scheduled on one day?

    • Only your event will be scheduled on your special day unless a 24-hour rental is arranged (i.e., to accommodate a rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, etc.). 

 

  • When will I have access to the property?

    • For one-day events, access is granted at 7 a.m.  Otherwise, access will be determined on a case-by-case need.

 

  • What is included?

    • We are delighted that you are considering our venue for your special event and would not presume to make choices for you.  Since all amenities at The Stables at Sturgeon Creek are à la carte, you can personalize your event as you desire. 

 

  • What about the weather?

    • As an outdoor venue, our only wet weather alternative is the covered portion of the main Pavilion, accommodating approximately 60 people.  We suggest renting a tent in the event of inclement weather.

    • Outdoor heating can be provided by the two fireplaces at the main pavilion and/or patio heaters may be rented.  There is no outdoor cooling.

 

  • What special touch amenities are available?

    • Doorway to the Marriage Tree

    • Up to fifteen 10’ handcrafted tables

 

  • Parking

    • Is there an option for valet parking?

      • With hiring of our driver and golf cart, we offer a “quasi-valet.”  Specifically, guests can be transported from their vehicles and back. 

    • How many parking spots are available?

      • The property can easily accommodate 100 guest vehicles

      • 38 parking spaces are strategically reserved for those needing close proximity to the pavilion and bridal cottage (i.e., bridal party, caterer, photographer, florist, band, etc.).

 

  • How many restrooms are onsite for guests?

    • There are two ADA compliant permanent bathrooms on the grounds and one full bath in the bridal cottage.

 

  • Is your venue ADA compliant?

    • We have handicapped parking.  The grounds and restrooms are accessible.  Our facilities, such as the main pavilion deck and bridal cottage, require the use of stairs.

 

  • Is smoking allowed?

    • Smoking is allowed in designated areas and we will provide two smokers’ receptacles.  Individual renters are welcome to designate their event as non-smoking.

 

  • What vendors may I hire?

    • Your vendors are your choice.  However, The Stables at Sturgeon Creek has relationships with carefully selected wedding professionals, and we are happy to share their information with you. Click VENDORS PAGE. 

 

 

  • May I hire a band or disc jockey?

    • Absolutely!  The Stables at Sturgeon Creek has dedicated circuits for a band’s or DJ’s convenience.  Most entertainers prefer their own sound system so we do not provide one.  The noise curfew is 11 p.m.

 

  • Do you allow the throwing of rice or confetti after a ceremony?

    • Yes, and we encourage celebratory wedding send offs!  Given that you are responsible for clean up, we recommend something environmentally friendly and as easy to pick up as it is to toss.

 

  • Who is responsible for setup prior to the event and packing up and cleaning after the event?

    • The renter is responsible for arranging all setup and take down. Any decorations or items left on the premises will be discarded after the rental period. 

 

  • Is there a venue representative present on the day of my event?

    • A venue representative will provide a thorough walk through at a mutually convenient time prior to your event.  If an on-site coordinator is requested for the occasion, one can be provided for an additional fee. 

 

  • When/What deposit is required and when is the final account settled?

    • 50% of the fee is due within 30 days of the signed contract

    • 50% + $500 refundable security deposit is due no less than 30 days prior to the scheduled event

 

  • What is the cancellation policy?

    • If a booking is cancelled within 30 days of the signed contract, there will be no cancellation fees.  If cancelled within 30 days of the scheduled event, 50% of collected fees will be refunded, plus the security deposit.  

 

  • What services charges or taxes will be a part of my bill?

    • There will be no surprise services charges or taxes charged by The Stables at Sturgeon Creek.
